A Rose Harmony

A Rose Harmony

Elizabeth Shewan

Some notes put together cause dis harmony.

Tis all.

They just do. Not much you can do.

Sometimes it can even shatter, scatter.

Only a change in a note will alter it,

but of both is asking a lot.

A rare thing.

You can only do it yourself.

Cannot control or make another.

Why I even thought it would change after the death of one...

Well, I wasn't thinking sensing was I.

I was doing what I always did.

Thinking the best on behest.

Naive ety.

When I was little

he would always disrupt,

separate,

set the cat amongst the pigeons,

with a smile smirk of innocence,

Mutley snigger along too.

They would always go with,

I would watch and think 'what!?'

'why!'

Like a twit woo I would do.

If only

he would stop …

there would be harmony.

A song we would hum.

But no.

He would always disrupt.

I'd always be blamed

Or shamed

Or told to shut up.

And they go along with

to dance with his tune.

So, when one of them went,

together we rallied,

to help with the mess.

Unthinking ass u me.

But the same kept on and on,

so used to it,

patterns formed.

Disharmony sang.

the whisper behind,

as a team they did always.

Unknown and unseeing

They kept humming their habit.

So I spoke about

Let's say issues,

polite I'd best be.

In hOpe they could see.

But why

oh why

did I think anything

would be different.

I'm brighter than that.

Naive ty again.

A wisdom it flew

Out the window a while.

Crocodile.

So I stand from afar

disengage

now

the tangled web from afar.

And stand where I am

now.

Feet firmly a ground.

A heart deep

Like a rose 🌹

Compassion composed.

Breath deep I do sit

In silence, mostly

repose.

What more can I do.

For now.

But

a harmony hum.
